GENERAL SUMMARY

Functions as a member of MCRT, a self-contained Clinical team, which provides needed crisis intervention and linkage to support services in the community.  Assists the Program Manager, MCRT with day to day operations.  The Principles of Recovery, empowerment and person first language will be incorporated into all activities that support the MCRT model.  This member of the MCRT has responsibility to carry out crisis interventions and can respond to the needs of individuals (adults and children) who are experience a behavioral health crisis in any setting (i.e., schools, home, juvenile justice settings) and ensure a warm hand off for ongoing services once the acute situation or crisis is stabilized.  The crisis may include aggressive behaviors; suicide attempts/ideation; drug and alcohol overdose or abuse; disruptive symptoms related to mood and anxiety disorders (e.g., panic, hopelessness, anger, depression), escalating behavior(s) and without immediate intervention, the individual is likely to require a higher intensity of services.  It may also present as an overt change in functioning or be prompted by a traumatic life event. The Team Leader, under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees, assists the Program Manager in the day-to-day administrative operations of the MCRT team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in a Human Services field, with two (2) years of experience with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses, or have a current Florida license in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling.   If master level only, must be license eligible and register as a social work, mental health counselor or marriage and family counselor intern.  Must have a strong commitment to the crisis intervention resolution and ability to link to available resources.  Skills and competence in the areas of crisis intervention strategies are required.  Must have a valid Florida Driver's License with 6 points or less in the last 5 years.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be in good physical condition with no restrictions of movement. 
Must be able to apply Therapeutic Effective Aggression Management (CARE) Techniques without limitations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1.0 Assists the Program Manager in provision of overall direction and goals for Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT).
  
1.1 Provides additional supervision to individuals as dictated by Program Manager, operational, and staff development needs. 
 
1.2 Assures that the Programs operate within the organizational goals, mission, vision, policies, procedures and protocols established by the Agency.
 
1.3 Assures Programs operate within the requirements of all funding bodies, contracting organizations and accrediting bodies.  Adheres to the policies and procedures of these Programs.
 
1.4 Assists the Program Manger in changes to staffing patterns and assures they are appropriate to meet the community's demand.
 
1.5 Is available outside of regular business hours for emergency consultation regarding programs.
  
1.6 May function to provide assessments as an Emergency Screener or MCRT responder as needed and assigned.
 
1.7 May conduct staff development activities, staff training, or professional development goals for assigned Program staff as directed or indicated.
  
2.0 Functions as a member of the MCRT and conducts emergency evaluations for new and existing clients who have accessed services through the MCRT.  Provides emergency interventions, post-ventions, and appropriate dispositions for assigned clients.
 
2.1 Emergency evaluations are performed in accordance with the Agency's protocol for conducting emergency evaluations.
  
2.2 Provides emergency interventions and appropriate dispositions for clients.
 
2.3 All emergency interventions are documented in writing on the emergency evaluation protocol including, but not limited to, external referral sources contacted and outcome; internal referral sources contacted and outcome; and other intervention modalities utilized, e.g. crisis for the individual and his/her family.
 
2.4 Final MCRT disposition for each assigned client is accurately documented in writing on the emergency evaluation protocol.
  
2.5 All emergency interventions are documented in writing including, but not limited to, completion of aftercare plan, safety plan, and /or transition plan; external referral sources contacted and outcome; internal referral sources contacted and outcome; and other intervention modalities utilized, e.g. crisis for the individual and his/her family.
 
2.6 Final Crisis/Screening Unit disposition for each assigned client is accurately documented in writing in accordance with policy and procedure.
 
3.0 Provides oversight to the MCRT staff  
 
3.1 Participates in review of MCRT documentation:  notes, assessments, safety plans, transition plans, and aftercare plans.
  
3.2 Consults with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process.
  
3.3 Provides on-call crisis intervention covering nighttime hours and serve as a backup to evening and weekend staff.
  
3.4 Participates in daily staff organizational meetings and treatment planning review meetings.
 
4.0 Provides practical help and supports advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving, direct assistance, training, and supervision to help individuals utilizing MCRT to obtain crisis resolution.
 
5.0 Assists the Program Manager in the day-to-day administrative operations of the MCRT team.

5.1 Assists the Program Manager in the organization and implementation of program policies and procedures.
  
5.2 Assists the Program Manager with scheduling of other Team members.
 
5.3 Assists the Program Manager with coordination of the referral process.
 
5.4 Assists the Program Manager in assuring the Program operates within the requirements of all funding bodies, administrative and regulatory codes and MCRT policies.
 
5.5 Tracks Measurable Outcomes and Progress towards Goals Assists the Program Manager in gathering and analyzing data for outcomes.  Prepares outcome measurements for monthly and quarterly reports for MCRT activities.
