To assist the clinical staff in the observation, supervision, monitoring and treatment delivery to individuals enrolled in In-Patient Programs.


AA in Human Services or related field or 2 years experience in related field will substitute for degree requirement.

Good interpersonal and writing skills.  Must have a valid Florida Driver's License with 6 points or less in the last 5 years.


Must be in good physical condition with no restrictions of movement. 
Must be able to apply Therapeutic Effective Aggression Management  Techniques without limitations.


1.0 Assists clinical staff in the observation, supervision and monitoring of individuals in the milieu 
1.1 Assists in the orientation of new individuals to the program.
1.2 Assists individuals in increasing ADL skills using hands-on techniques as needed.
1.3 All individuals on special precautions (close observation) are monitored according to facility protocol and procedure.
1.4 Recognizes signs of aggressive behavior and responds promptly to crisis situations.
1.5 Appropriately utilizes verbal and physical intervention techniques (NAPPI) to redirect and prompt individuals to safe and appropriate behavior.
2.0 Guides and participates in individual therapeutic milieu.
2.1 Conducts educational lectures and skill development group discussions.
2.2 Readily develops and establishes therapeutic relationships with individuals.
2.3 Effectively interacts with individual's family and significant others.
2.4 Is familiar with assigned individuals, assists in the development of individual treatment plan goals, and assists and encourages individuals in implementing and carrying out appropriate aspects of the plan.
2.5 Participates with supervisor in regularly scheduled meetings and activities to increase clinical understanding of individuals and program.
2.6 Coordinates written assignments and individual goal setting activities with assigned groups.
3.0 Prepares written/EMR documentation and record keeping for individuals as assigned.
3.1 Medical record entries are factual and concise and documented using the PIP format.
3.2 Medical record entries are in correct sequence and according to protocol and procedure.
3.3 Close observation checklists are completed in a timely and accurate manner and according to protocol and procedure.
3.4 Documents neatly, legibly and in accordance with accepted charting standards.
4.0 Demonstrates knowledge of and implements the specific programs according to individual's age group and level of functioning.
4.1 Demonstrates adequate knowledge of normal childhood development.
4.2 Effectively demonstrates ability to use language and content appropriate to the individual's developmental level in order to interact on an age appropriate level.
4.3 Teaches and encourages the individual to complete tasks independently; reinforces individual's effort.
4.4 Demonstrates basic application of diagnostic knowledge for all individual's age groups and levels of functioning.
4.5 Recognizes mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring illness signs, symptoms and behaviors as they relate to all age groups and levels of functioning.
4.6 Adequate knowledge of addiction principles as they relate to youths.
5.0 Performs other duties as requested.
5.1 Miscellaneous duties are performed according to instruction.
